When a church is between pastors, the congregation needs more than pulpit supply — they need meaningful leadership. Too often an interim becomes steady pulpit supply, when the church also needs guidance to help navigate this season and prepare for the next pastor. This is why the role of a Transitional Pastor (Intentional Interim Pastor) is so vital.

Louisiana Baptists is offering a one-day training for transitional pastors who are called to serve churches averaging fewer than 125 in attendance, with a transition typically designed to be completed in less than six months. This material will also serve as a helpful review for those already engaged in transitional ministry.

The registration cost is $15 and includes the notebook, lunch, and all training materials.

As your CenLa AMS, when a church contacts me for assistance in securing an interim pastor, I will seek to connect that church with a pastor who is prepared to serve in a transitional role.
